Need: SPW's
broad approach to learning in the school and its surrounding communities,
while cost effective through the work of the peer educators, necessitates
the mobilisation of resources within the community, the government and
other institutions
Aim:To
involve all stakeholders in SPW's work to
ensure its sustainability and accountability
Key methods:To sensitise
both the volunteers and the various partner institutions to each other's
work and create appropriate links:
Tapping into Government Schemes such
as WATSAN and NABARD.
Working with Government special educational
programmes such as CLASS (Child Labour Abolition Support Scheme) and
SSA (Sarva Shishya Abayan) a programme for Universalisation of Primary
Education.
Involving the local village administration - Panchayat.
Working with the government Public Works Department
on school restoration projects.
Use the expertise of other NGOs
in technical areas of health and the environment, such as CHAD and
RUHSA of Christian Medical College and Hospital, SLRTC Karigiri,
Thirumalai Charity Trust Ranipet and EXNORA.
Involving local clubs.
Providing opportunities
for students from private schools to interact through sport and other
extra-curricula activities.
