The absolute aim of the programme is to demonstrate that long term intervention in schools by trained peers has a great potential for dramatically increasing the capacity of the schools, of the government and of civil society in all its guises, to tackle some of the most devastating and yet avoidable diseases, general health and environmental problems and educational underachievement faced by young school-aged children and the youth.
