Need: SPW
considers health in its broadest terms - as an index to a person's well
being. The rapid rise
in communicable illnesses amongst school aged youth, the increasing poverty
and the lack of broad education are all factors affecting young people's
health in rural Vellore District.
Aim: To provide
young people with the information needed for better health practices
that will enable them to make responsible decisions
concerning their own lives and those of others.
Key methods: Through interactive
and inclusive educational methods such as music, drama and sport, the
volunteers provide the following:
|
|
Training in personal hygiene and in
public sanitation at school and at home |
|
|
First Aid Training |
